Line8 is a complete modular power track system that replaces traditional fixed wall sockets — allowing you to add, remove, and reposition outlets anywhere along the track in seconds, without an electrician.

Founded by Dr Kenneth Ong in Singapore, Line8 was awarded patent status in 2017 and now holds 11 worldwide patents. Line8 is the only power track brand manufacturing in Singapore — Premium Series is fully in-house made in Singapore, and Zen Series is made in Singapore with some components outsourced — trusted in over 80,000 Singapore homes and distributed across 10+ countries.

Line8 sells two tiers. Premium Series is three custom-configured track systems — Model SL (Surface Light, 25mm architectural surface track), Model R (Recessed, flush into carpentry or wall), and Model TL (Triangle Light, desk-edge and corner mounting). Everything else is a configuration of one of them: length (custom to 1mm), finish (11 hand-applied finishes), terminal side, lighting (none, 4000K white, or RGBCCT smart), and the modular accessory and adaptor ecosystem.

Every configuration resolves to a single order code — so the entire Premium Series range is one grammar, not a catalogue of thousands of separate products. Zen Series is a fourth, separate system — Zen Track, a fixed-length monocore track sold as simple SKUs (400/600/800/1000mm, Satin Black only) rather than a configured order code, priced as Line8's value tier.

A Line8 order code encodes a complete track specification in one string, read left to right: model, lighting (omitted for none), length in mm, terminal side, finish, then any accessories and adaptors with quantities.

For example, SL-w1000RBk is a Model SL surface track, 4000K white lighting, 1000mm, right terminal, Black Hairline finish. An architect can write this directly into a drawing schedule. The full grammar and decode key are published at the order code reference.

Zen Track is Line8’s monocore power track — a single piece of extruded, Satin Black anodised aluminium, 50×22mm, available in four fixed lengths (400 / 600 / 800 / 1000mm) from $85, sold as track only. Zen-UKS and other Zen Series adaptors are sold separately, the same way tracks and adaptors are priced across the rest of the Line8 range, engineered to the same 32A / IEC 61534 standard as our modular tracks and carrying a 3-year warranty.

Model SL, R and TL are fully modular: the housing and conductor core are extruded separately and assembled to order, which is what enables custom lengths to 1mm, 11 finishes, ambient lighting and full part-level servicing. They carry a 5-year warranty, upgradable to lifetime.

Zen Track is monocore: a single extruded piece, offered in four fixed lengths and one finish (Satin Black), with a 3-year warranty. It’s a different architecture built for a more accessible price point — not a lesser standard of engineering. Both use the same conductor and safety philosophy Line8 is built on.

Zen Track had its first public sale at COMEX 2026, sold as track only. It carries a 3-year warranty against manufacturing defects — the same term as our existing Zen Series adaptors, and not eligible for the lifetime upgrade offered on Premium Series tracks.

Yes — and it’s not limited to Zen Series. You can add the full Zen Series range: the Zen-UKS British socket, Zen-MLT travel socket, the CHG-65 65W GaN USB-C charger, the sKope smart IP camera, the Protect surge protector (13,500A), and a Tuya-powered Smart Socket with app and voice control.

Zen Track shares Line8’s universal mechanical key, so Line8’s Premium Series adaptors (UKS-1, MLT-1, AUN-1 and the same feature adaptors) are also fully cross-compatible with it. The design language is consistent across the range — Zen Track itself just doesn’t offer custom-cut lengths, the 11 Premium finishes, or fit multimedia accessories (data, HDMI, AV points), which remain exclusive to the modular Premium Series tracks (Model SL/R/TL).

Line8 is the original technology owner and manufacturer of its entire range, Premium Series and Zen Track alike, not a reseller of anyone’s product — everything is designed, engineered and produced in-house at Line8’s own Singapore facility and sold factory-direct, removing the importer, distributor, franchise and white-label OEM markup layers that typically inflate power track prices in Singapore.

Patented Triple Redundancy Safety (TRS) — three independent layers:

The track is IP2X certified finger-safe. The asymmetric lock-and-key geometry means the circuit cannot be closed by any object other than a genuine Line8 adaptor. The active grounded shields immediately earth any incidental contact. Any fault current trips your home's RCCB/ELCB instantly.

Tracks are built from aerospace-grade hard-anodised aluminium and PBT polymer — non-rusting, chemically resistant. Live conductors are deeply recessed, preventing splash water from bridging contacts. If substantial water creates a leakage path, the active grounded shield discharges it to earth, immediately tripping your RCCB/ELCB. Once dry, reset the breaker — no repair needed.

Yes — Line8 is specifically engineered for kitchen use. The aluminium track efficiently dissipates heat. Adaptor housings carry a UL94 V-0 fire resistance rating (self-extinguishing thermoplastic). Steam and light splashes have no electrical effect due to the deeply recessed, Faraday-shielded contacts.

Zero standby power — 0.0W. The core track and adaptors are fully mechanical with no internal electronics. The asymmetric lock-and-key keeps the circuit open when no adaptor is engaged — no current can flow. Power is drawn only when an adaptor is engaged, rotated, and its switch activated.

• Undersized earth conductors that melt under fault current, leaving you unprotected.

No — international adaptors are for commercial and overseas use only. Singapore regulations require all residential sockets to carry the Safety Mark, which applies only to British BS1363 (3-pin) type sockets. For home use, select our Premium British or Zen British adaptors — both Safety Mark certified.

For completed spaces, Line8 is a drop-in upgrade — tracks mount over existing socket holes using the same wiring. No hacking or rewiring required.

Existing socket upgrade: No new wiring needed. Remove the faceplate, connect Live/Neutral/Earth to the Line8 terminal block, mount over the original hole — done.

New installation: Ask your electrician to run standard 3-core wiring (Live, Neutral, Earth) — identical to any wall socket requirement.

1. Insert the adaptor into the track aperture fully.
2. Rotate 90° clockwise to engage the electrical connection.
3. Power on: Premium series — pull the push-pull ring outward. Zen series — activates in the final rotation degrees.

To remove: switch off, rotate 90° anti-clockwise, pull out. The adaptor is mechanically locked while ON — it cannot be removed while live.

Maximum: 3,000mm (3 metres) per single extruded section — our precision-cutting limit for one length.
Joining: sections join end-to-end — the end cap unclips and two precisely extruded aluminium profiles meet with a near-invisible hairline joint — so there's no practical limit on total run length. We regularly supply continuous runs of 30, 40 and 50 metres or more for commercial and hospitality projects.
Minimum recommended: 450mm. Shorter tracks can be made but are billed at the 450mm rate.

Initial price for the Premium Series is higher, reflecting premium materials and custom-engineered features — machined phosphor bronze conductors, the patented Triple Redundancy Safety system, and 65W GaN USB-C fast chargers built into the adaptor heads. Total cost of ownership is significantly lower than cheap uncertified tracks, which risk fires and electrocution and often need costly replacement. Premium Series carries a 5-year warranty, upgradable to lifetime on registration, and tracks and adaptors move with you when you relocate. If upfront cost is the deciding factor, Zen Track and Zen Series adaptors are Line8's own value tier — the same IEC 61534 engineering standard and Triple Redundancy Safety system, from S$85, with a 3-year warranty.

Yes — each adaptor is a certified wall-socket equivalent. Any extension strip (4-way, 6-way) that works in a standard wall socket works in a Line8 adaptor. The 13A per-adaptor limit still applies — ensure the combined load of all devices on the extension does not exceed this.

Minimal maintenance required. Fine dust in the aperture is normal and doesn't affect performance — the self-cleaning mechanism clears it on every adaptor insertion. For aesthetic cleaning: remove all adaptors, switch off main power, use a narrow vacuum nozzle on the aperture, then wipe the exterior with a dry or lightly dampened cloth.

A power track is a continuous electrified rail that replaces individual fixed wall sockets. Power exists along its entire length, so an outlet — called an adaptor — can be added, moved, or removed anywhere on the rail without rewiring or an electrician.

Insulated conductors run the full length of an enclosed aluminium body. An adaptor engages those conductors at any point along the rail by sliding or twisting into place, completing the circuit only once it's correctly locked — everywhere an adaptor isn't present, the rail stays enclosed and inert.

It depends entirely on the architecture, not the category. A certified track is tested to the same IEC 61534 standard used for fixed wiring, with a fully enclosed live conductor, a full-size earth, and a lock that keeps the track de-energised until an adaptor is deliberately engaged. Budget or uncertified tracks can compromise on shielding, earthing or lock design to cut cost — that's the real safety variable to check.

A full-size earth conductor is a dedicated protective-earth conductor run the entire length of the track, sized the same as the live and neutral conductors rather than a thinner substitute. It's what lets metal-bodied appliances and fittings connected to the track be safely grounded against a fault.

Earthing gives a fault current — a live wire touching a metal casing, for example — a low-resistance path to ground, which trips the circuit breaker immediately instead of leaving the casing live. Some slim monocore tracks shrink or remove the earth conductor to reduce depth. That's a real safety trade-off, not a cosmetic one — it removes that protective path entirely.

IEC 61534 is the international standard for power track systems ("busbar trunking systems for domestic and similar use"), covering construction, earthing, insulation, thermal performance and fault behaviour. Line8's tracks and adaptors are independently tested against IEC 61534-1 clauses — including short-circuit withstand (Clause 18) and insulation ball-pressure testing at 125°C (Clause 19.2) — by Intertek, with full report references published on our About page.

Active grounding means the track's metal shielding is continuously connected to earth, not just the conductor running inside it. Line8's dual Faraday shields are actively grounded on both sides of every aperture, so if any object reaches into an opening, it contacts a grounded surface rather than a live one.

Line8 adaptors use an asymmetrical lock-and-key mechanism: the adaptor is inserted, then twisted or pulled with two opposing forces — similar to a child-safe medicine cap — to engage the internal contacts and mechanically lock in place. The track stays de-energised until that lock fully engages, and a locked adaptor can't be withdrawn live.

A modular track — Line8's Model SL, R and TL — has its housing and conductor core extruded separately and assembled to order, enabling custom lengths to 1mm, a choice of finishes, and part-level servicing. A monocore track — Line8's Zen Track — is a single extruded piece in a fixed length and one finish: simpler to produce, sold as fixed SKUs rather than a configured order.

Conductor choice is a direct cost-versus-performance trade-off. Line8's Premium Series uses 99.99% pure ETP copper in a 6mm² solid-core pentagon profile — part of a Quad Conductor System carrying 32A AC and 32A DC simultaneously — while many budget tracks use thinner or lower-purity conductors sized to the minimum a standard allows. Larger-section, higher-purity copper carries more current with less resistive heating, particularly under sustained load.

On a modular system, a faulty adaptor or accessory is simply unplugged and replaced without touching the track itself or any other adaptor on the rail — the same way a faulty extension lead gets swapped, not the whole circuit. On a monocore system, the conductor and housing are one piece, so a fault in the core itself isn't separately serviceable.

Any conductor generates heat under load — the real question is whether the design keeps it within a certified margin. Line8's tracks are tested to IEC 61534-1's thermal and short-circuit clauses, including withstanding a 3,000A prospective fault (4,608A peak) without the fault-detection fuse wire melting, and the aluminium enclosure itself acts as a heat sink along the full run.

Yes, within the track's rated capacity. Line8 tracks are rated to 32A / 8,000W — enough for several high-draw kitchen appliances (kettle, air fryer, toaster, rice cooker) drawing from the same track at once, since each adaptor handles up to 13A/250V independently and the busbar carries the combined load.

On a modular track, yes — an adaptor can be added anywhere along the rail at any time, limited only by the physical space between existing adaptors (roughly 65mm each, after end caps and any lighting maintenance cover). A fixed-socket wall installation has no equivalent — adding an outlet there means new wiring.

Yes, on Line8's modular Premium Series — adaptors, accessories and even sections of track are separately serviceable parts, not bonded into one sealed unit. It's also why tracks and adaptors carry independent warranty terms: 5 years, upgradable to lifetime, on Premium Series; 3 years on Zen Series.

Mechanically, a well-built track should outlast several renovation cycles. Line8's contacts are rated to exceed 50,000 insertion/removal cycles, and the aluminium body and copper conductors don't degrade under normal use the way rubber-insulated fittings can over time. Practically, a certified track system should last as long as the wiring behind your walls — the premise behind backing one with a warranty that upgrades to lifetime.

A surface track (Model SL) mounts on top of a wall or joinery face and stays visible as a design element — easier to retrofit without cutting into cabinetry. A recessed track (Model R) sets flush into carpentry, stone or a wall so only the adaptors show at the surface — a cleaner finish, but it needs the depth allowance built into the joinery from the start.

Conventional sockets are fixed points wired individually during construction — moving or adding one means opening a wall. A power track is a single continuous circuit installed once, with outlet positions decided, and changed, after the fact by sliding an adaptor along the rail. The same IEC 61534 certification standard applies to both once installed.

An extension cord is a temporary, unsecured length of cable resting on the floor, rated for light loads, with nothing equivalent to a certified electrical fitting — it's meant to be removed, not lived with. A power track is a fixed, wall- or surface-mounted installation certified to the same standard as a socket, rated for continuous load (32A on Line8's system), with no trailing cable or trip hazard.

The Premium Lifetime Warranty Upgrade ($88) is an optional add-on that extends coverage beyond the standard 3 or 5-year warranty for Line8 Tracks and Premium Adaptors against manufacturing defects. It is exclusive to the Singapore domestic market. Zen, Smart, and USB Charger Adaptors are not included.
